Partners in Equestrian Therapy was selected as a beneficiary of Monty Roberts' Join Up demonstration at the Mid State Fairgrounds, Paso Robles, CA January 19, 2002.
Monty Roberts, internationally renowned horse gentler and best selling author of the Man Who Listens to Horses, travels the world offering demonstrations of his nonviolent Join-Up technique. Queen Elizabeth II has all of her horses trained according to Roberts methods.

P.E.T Director Dena Sherry makes front page! In a Special Volunteer Issue: Who is helping our community and why, Dena and her horse Ettena grace the front cover of San Luis Obispo's weekly paper New Times, January 4-11, 2001.
The cover story describes how three ranches in San Luis Obispo county "are using horses to help the disabled gain not only physical strength but also self esteem and social growth."

"Chris Whiting, the club's community service project leader, and her 13 members have undertaken a restoration project for a San Luis Obispo ranch that's used in conjunction with Partners In Equestrian Therapy (PET)." The article goes on to describe the services of PET and the needs that the 4-H club will be addressing.
